Rawkus®Australia: Our History and Who We Are
Let’s get real for a second. Rawkus®Australia didn’t just pop up overnight. Rawkus the band born in 1991 ending in 1994 then returning in 2023 is only part of the story.
Established by my wife Natalie and I, Rawkus®Australia is its own seperate promotions & management machine designed to give back to the industry we love with fans, venues, and artists who call WA home We’re the product of passion, sweat, lessons learned and a relentless drive to amplify the voices of West Coast Australian hard rock and metal artists. Our roots run deep in the local scene, but our branches stretch far and wide.
We started our journey by understanding the raw power and soul of West Coast Rock and Metal and a desire to bring our knowledge and passion for all things loud back into the scene.
Today, we’re a buzzing hub of activity, hosting events, sharing killer content, and connecting artists with fans across continents. Natalie brings her event management expertise and unique insights into the music industry after growing up around the Perth music scene and seeing and mixing with some of the biggest names in the music industry to ever visit the West Coast of Australia.
I myself have always believed that if by chance the major label A&R's and spotlight was Perth in the 90's instead of Seattle, a whole new world wide genre would have been born and swept the world. Not Grunge but maybe "Rawk'n'Roll". Why? The venues, managers, agents and fans passion for original Hard Rock & Metal was on display across the state on every weekend and at every venue imaginable which bred and nurtured the most incredible bands the world should have known. I was lucky enough to see first hand and play alongside some amazing bands like Allegiance, Infected, SFD, Dumptruck, Hellbound, Dethlahem, KIN, VanadiumBc and a hundred more that would of sold millions of albums if given the chance.
30 years later the talent I have seen and had the honour of sharing the stage with is a humbling and unbelievable experience. The live scene has changed but the passion is as strong as ever and it's my turn to give back to an industry I owe so much.
